Big news for Comic-con fans who have been waiting to register for Comic-Con 2018. Open Registration will begin shortly after 9 AM Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Saturday, December 9, 2017. The Expo Logic waiting room will open at 8 AM (PST) for registration code authorization. The six month countdown begins
There is a catch. To participate in Open Registration, you must have a valid and confirmed Comic-Con Member ID. Only Comic-Con Member ID accounts created and confirmed prior to November 27, 2017 at 9:30 AM Pacific Standard Time (PST) are eligible to participate. So, if you don't have a Member ID you have twenty days left to get one. This is the only way you can be eligible for the registration. Then there's the next step.
Once you are eligible to participate, you will need the Expo Logic waiting room link and your personal registration code (yes, there are a lot of hoops to jump through). These will be sent to you via email at least 48 hours in advance of Open Registration. I know at this point it's starting to feel like you're taking on a mission for special ops, but those who know will tell you it's worth it. Your registration code and waiting room link will also be available in your Comic-Con Member ID account at least 48 hours in advance of Open Registration. This information is located under the “Registration Info” tab.
If you've never done this before, you probably should go to the official website and read up on the details before the jump down the rabbit whole. For all the important information on registration codes, the Expo Logic waiting room, purchasing badges for others, and browser requirements, read all of the Comic-Con 2018 Open Registration instructions at www.comic-con.org/cci/2018/open-registration. You should also add do-not-reply@comic-con.org and ccireg@expologic.com as an approved/authorized senders to your email account.
As you probably know, there are more eligible attendees than available badges and not everyone will be able to purchase a badge during Open Registration. And in case you don't know, entry into the waiting room does not guarantee a badge or registration session. So, don't wait, act today and get all your ducks in a row before you begin the process. For all the latest news you'll want to follow Comic-con on Facebook, Twitter, and Toucan (the official blog of Comic-Con and WonderCon Anaheim). Updates and important announcements about registration will be available through these social media portals first. And keep your eyes open on those same access points for helpful tips and hints in the week leading up to Open Registration. Good luck!
